Since 1950, the volume of world trade has increased by twenty times, making globalization a reality of the business world.  Companies are seeing how increased international trade and investment, as well as advancements in information technology, are changing the global marketplace.  Analysts believe that policy and technological developments in the past thirty years have fostered such large increases in cross-border trade and investment that the world has entered a new era in its economic development.

McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP's International practice has grown in response to increased globalization.  We have brought together lawyers and trade policy professionals who are able to address client needs across the full spectrum of challenges presented by global business. McKenna Long & Aldridge's team consists of highly qualified and experienced practitioners in international commercial arbitration; foreign court litigation management; and WTO proceedings.  We handle every kind of issue involving international trade law, including many trade remedy cases and U.S. regulation and control of exports and foreign trade activities.  Our team includes many former senior executive and legislative branch officials, experienced in virtually all policy issues, including the former U.S. Ambassador to Canada, a major contributor to the GATT Agreement; a senior departmental representative official on the first committee on foreign investments in the United States; and a former member of the team that served as lead counsel to the Mexican government in the NAFTA negotiations.
