PROFILE
Gary Caris is a partner in McKenna Long & Aldridge’s Los Angeles Office. His practice focuses on bankruptcy, receivership and creditors’ rights. He is experienced in representing financial institutions and other creditors in complex bankruptcy litigation and Chapter 11 reorganizations, as well as representing receivers in financial fraud matters in federal court.
Throughout his career, Gary has successfully represented financial institutions, other large corporations and receivers in many important appellate cases, including In re Adair, 965 F. 2d 777 (9th Cir. 1992), In re DAK Industries, 66F. 3d 1091 (9th Cir. 1995), Friedman Enterprises v. B.U.M. International, Inc., 229 F. 3d 824 (9th Cir. 2000) and Federal Trade Commission v. Assail, Inc., 410 F.3d 256 (5th Cir. 2005). He has also represented court-appointed receivers in numerous large-scale fraud cases brought by the Federal Trade Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission, including the largest reported Internet credit card fraud on record. Gary was named a Southern California Super Lawyer in 2004 and 2005.
