PROFILE

Daniel Hoye has significant experience in toxic tort, construction, premises liability and employment litigation. Dan's experience includes being lead counsel in a variety of litigation matters, handling all aspects of discovery, alternative disputes resolution, trial and appeal.

Dan acted west coast counsel for a large multi-national company sued in asbestos litigation. His employment litigation experience includes representing various institutional employers in a wide variety of employment matters including disability and racial discrimination lawsuits. One of Dan's employment matters recently resulted in a significant victory before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. The Court's opinion reported at Freeman v. Oakland Unified School District (9th Cir. 2002) 291 F3d 632, represents a substantial victory for employers and has since been cited by other courts and legal treatises.

After earning his J.D. from the College of William and Mary Law School, Dan was a member of the United States Army, Judge Advocate General's Corps, where he specialized in Government procurements matters. Dan began his private practice career in the San Francisco Bay area in 1989. He also served as an Associate General Counsel with the Redevelopment Agency of San Jose, advising the Agency on all aspects of public contracting and construction
