PROFILE

Jonathan Friedman is a Partner in the firm’s Tort Defense Group.  He works principally in the areas of insurance, product liability and complex tort, with an emphasis on defending manufacturers, distributors and other businesses in the aviation, consumer products, industrial machinery and transportation markets.

Jonathan has briefed and argued cases in state, federal and appellate courts throughout the United States and has significant experience in class actions and multi-district litigation.  He routinely counsels clients on pre-suit regulatory and contractual product liability matters and often confronts the important recurrent issues in today’s litigation practice (e.g., jurisdictional and venue disputes, electronic discovery matters, and efforts to exclude expert witnesses on Daubert grounds).  He is national product liability counsel for an Illinois industrial machinery manufacturer and regional counsel for a German luxury automobile manufacturer.

He is Editor of The Georgia Aviation Flyer, the aviation law reporter for the State Bar of Georgia, and is a frequent lecturer on air law, product liability, electronic discovery and warranty issues.

Jonathan is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Aviation, Litigation, and Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Sections of the American Bar Association, the Aviation Law and Product Liability Sections of the State Bar of Georgia, and the Product Liability Section of the Atlanta Bar Association.

A graduate of The George Washington University with a degree in  Philosophy, Jonathan received his law degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as an editor of The Georgetown Law Journal.
