PROFILE

Janine focuses on commercialization of technology and intellectual property, issues surrounding e-commerce and the protection and exploitation of Internet-based assets, privacy and information security, data and email retention and technology export compliance. This focus includes client counseling on general technology and intellectual property matters, negotiation and drafting of a wide range of technology agreements, as well as handling technology disputes.  She has also served as technology counsel on M&A transactions and has significant general contracting experience.

Janine represents technology companies as well as companies utilizing technology. These companies span the spectrum of industries and sizes, from start ups and emerging growth to public companies. Her work with emerging growth companies includes counseling on corporate formation and the development of strategies regarding commercialization and revenue generation of company intellectual property assets.

Janine has obtained her Certified Information and Privacy Professional (CIPP) accreditation, a credential in a broad range of corporate privacy issues, laws and concepts in the U.S., E.U. and the Asia Pacific region including privacy law, workplace privacy, information security, and web privacy, security, data sharing and transfer.

Janine also has a niche advising clients about rolling out games and contests (both offline and online) nationwide.  This includes drafting rules for nationwide legal compliance.

Janine's prior professional experience includes work as a Senior Consultant at Accenture (formerly known as Andersen Consulting), CIBA Vision Corporation as an Industrial Engineer; and at IBM where she served as a Project Manager for international software development projects and Program Manager where she led technology licensing activities for select IBM technologies.
