PROFILE

Chris Baugher represents international and domestic companies in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, strategic alliances, outsourcing arrangements and corporate counseling. 

Chris has extensive experience with complex cross-border transactions that are often coupled with a long-term strategic or marketing alliance among the parties.  As part of his international practice, Chris has represented companies in significant transactions throughout North America and Europe, including in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Norway, Poland and Spain.

In particular, Chris has in-depth experience advising clients in the electronic payments industry.  For most of 2005, Chris was based in Dublin, Ireland as the dedicated on-site legal counsel for the fourth largest merchant acquirer in Europe.  He has also spent a significant period of time based in McKenna Long & Aldridge’s Brussels office assisting clients in the payments industry with cross-border transactions and matters related to the Credit Card Associations.

In addition to his international experience, Chris has successfully represented both public and private companies in connection with domestic acquisitions, investments and other transactions in a variety of industries.

Before entering law school, Chris worked in sales for Scott Paper Company for three years where he served as the primary contact for a multi-million dollar customer base.
