PROFILE

Dan Beale represents employers involved in a wide range of employment disputes, including discrimination and harassment claims, employment contract disputes, wrongful termination claims, defamation and non-competition and trade secrets issues. He also has experience in representing employers in collective actions filed on behalf of employees seeking overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

In addition to formal litigation and administrative claims, Dan regularly provides guidance to employers regarding compliance with various federal, state and local laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act. In this counseling role, Dan advises clients on employment policies, drafting of employment-related agreements and conducting internal investigations of employee complaints.

Dan also has an active practice in representing executives of public and private companies in negotiating employment agreements and separation arrangements.

Dan is active in the firm's Pro Bono practice and is involved with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. Within the Atlanta office, Dan is responsible for coordinating litigation skills training.

Outside of his firm activities, Dan is a member of the Board of Trustees of Cliff Valley School in Atlanta. He is also an active participant in the music program at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church.

Prior to joining the firm, Dan clerked for The Honorable Orinda D. Evans, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Georgia.
