PROFILE

Charles “Trip” Dorkey is a prominent litigator in the New York office of McKenna Long & Aldridge. Trip joined from Torys LLP, where he was the head of their U.S. Litigation department, and brings over 30 years of business litigation experience. Throughout his career, Trip has served as lead counsel in significant cases nationwide involving securities, reinsurance, construction, real estate, employment, and a broad range of commercial and other business disputes, many of which have arisen out of mergers and acquisition activities.

Trip has handled a variety of transnational cases dealing with non-U.S. legal proceedings and issues in many countries including Brazil, China, Nigeria, Turkey, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and many European countries. Much of his work has involved matters at the intersection between private and public activity. Most recently, his practice has involved disputes over financial sector acquisitions, tax shelter transactions, distributions from failed hedge funds, and insurance coverage.
