May 9, 2007

May 9, 2007 (Washington, D.C.) – McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP continues to grow the firm’s national litigation practice with the addition of two new partners in California. Mark Geraghty, an accomplished environmental and product liability attorney, joins the Los Angeles office. Mimi Lee, also a well-established environmental and product liability attorney, joins the San Francisco office. Geraghty and Lee have practiced together for more than 13 years; both were partners at Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner LLP before joining McKenna, and Geraghty was co-chair of the Toxic Tort Practice Group. These additions follow the addition last month of litigation partner Charles E. Dorkey, III, in the firm’s New York City office.

The firm is proud to welcome two of California’s premier litigators,” said Tami Lyn Azorsky, co-chair of McKenna’s litigation practice. “They have a distinguished reputation in the legal field and represent impressive companies, including Pfizer, Jacobs Engineering, and Ciba Specialty Chemicals Corporation. Their presence helps us provide our clients with even more comprehensive services and enhanced trial capability in California.”

Geraghty is a highly regarded trial attorney who has extensive experience representing leading U.S. companies in cases involving toxic exposure, groundwater contamination, asbestos exposure, construction defects, and premises liability. “I am delighted to join McKenna’s well-established litigation department,” said Geraghty. “The opportunity to work with a strong litigation practice that emphasizes a national presence is an exciting one for me.”

Geraghty earned his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law School (1973) and his B.S. from Fairfield University (1970).

Lee, also a well-regarded litigator, focuses on commercial litigation with an emphasis on asbestos and environmental matters. She also counsels clients in employment litigation on matters involving claims of discrimination and harassment. “I have known and respected many of McKenna’s attorneys as co-defense counsel in complex litigation matters in Northern and Southern California,” said Lee. “I now look forward to collaborating with them as my partners in providing top legal service to our clients.” Lee, who was heavily involved in Thelen’s efforts to promote diversity and retain attorneys of color, also plans to take an active role in McKenna’s diversity program.

Lee obtained her J.D. at St. Louis University School of Law (1990) and her B.A. at Indiana University (1986). She also attended law school in Paris at the Université de Paris XI (1989).
