September 13, 2005

WASHINGTON, DC - (September 14, 2005) - Joshua Hochberg, Chief of the Fraud Section, Criminal Division, US Department of Justice, has joined McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP's Washington, DC office as a partner on the Investigations/White Collar team.

Mr. Hochberg has led a distinguished career at the Department of Justice (DOJ). As Chief of the Fraud Section, he has had responsibility over a wide spectrum of white collar criminal investigations and prosecutions in such areas as procurement fraud, health care fraud, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations and securities fraud.

Mr. Hochberg spearheaded the DOJ's renewed focus on foreign bribery and corruption cases and implemented deferred prosecution agreements for corporations where prosecutors agree to put criminal charges on hold and give companies a chance to show compliance. "Josh will increase our depth in corporate investigations and white collar defense," said Michael Scheininger, chair of the firm's White Collar Defense practice. "Josh has earned enormous respect from everyone at DOJ and we're excited to have him join us."
