On Monday, January 24, McKenna Long & Aldridge sponsored a reception at the San Diego Westin Hotel in honor of Irma Gonzalez' appointment as Chief Judge of the Southern District of California. Judge Gonzalez is the wife of San Diego partner Bob Brewer.
More than 200 lawyers, judges, family and friends attended the gala event. Co-chairman Jay Gallagher spoke on behalf of the firm.
Judge Gonzalez was appointed by President George Bush, Sr. to the federal bench in 1991, making her the first Hispanic female in the U.S. to be appointed a Federal District Court Judge.
