January 14, 2005San Francisco, CA (January 12, 2005) The national law firm of McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP has added five litigators to its San Francisco office. The attorneys will join the firm's product liability and toxic litigation practice. The group comes to MLA from the San Francisco firm of C.W. Wood & Associates, P.C., where they practiced civil, toxic, product liability, environmental, and commercial litigation. This addition brings the number of attorneys in MLA's San Francisco office to 21. The San Francisco office provides a range of practice areas including: environmental litigation, environmental regulatory practice, product liability, toxic tort and general litigation.
The new litigation group includes Partner Christopher W. Wood, senior trial counsel Eric Bergstrom and Daniel Hoye and senior litigation associates Paul Lannus and Ana Portillo. Their practice includes providing advice, counsel and trial representation for clients with toxic and environmental claims, mass tort and multi-party litigation and commercial litigation matters. Led by Mr. Wood, the group's experiences include defending claims arising from exposures to asbestos, silica and solvents, as well as handling commercial litigation matters.
"The firm's ability to recruit this group is validation of the platform we are building on the West Coast. They support the firm's strategic focus and growth of our litigation practice," said Tami Lyn Azorsky, co-chair of the firm's Litigation practice.
"Mr. Wood and his group bring significant experience and additional expertise that will enhance our leadership in this area," said Lisa Oberg, Partner in San Francisco, who was instrumental in bringing the group to McKenna.
