• The national authority in China responsible for pesticide registration and regulation is the Institute for Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture in Beijing (“ICAMA”). Deputy Director General Ye Jiming of ICAMA will join us and speak on registering pesticides with ICAMA; he will also address the basics of pesticide distribution in China.
• Bill Chen, Director, Pacific Regulatory and Government Affairs, Dow AgroSciences, will discuss China’s scheduled development of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP’s), which promises to shape future development of pesticide data in the country, as well as the development of new active ingredients.
• Bao-qing Zhao from the Embassy of PRC, Washington, D.C., will speak on U.S./China agribusiness developments.
• Jeffrey Li, associate, McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP will speak on doing business in China and protecting intellectual property in China. He is a member of the Chinese Bar and holds a Chinese JD from Shanghai University Law School and U.S. JD from the University of Kansas (NY bar pending). He has 6 years experience as in house counsel with chemical companies in China.
