Careers

At McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, we hire lawyers who are bright, dedicated, well-rounded, articulate and team players.  Our lawyers have many options from which to choose to begin or to continue their legal career, but choose to join our firm for a variety of reasons.  Just a few of these reasons include our firm’s culture, our team concept, the opportunity to begin doing real work fast, our commitment to training and career development, the amount and level of complex and interesting work, and our commitment to serving our communities.

Our summer associates believe that our firm is a great place to work, as evidenced by the results from The American Lawyer’s 2006 Summer Associate Survey.  In 2006, our summer associates ranked our Washington D.C. office as 1st in the City for outstanding summer programs and ranked our Atlanta office 3rd in the City for outstanding summer programs.

Another unique aspect of our firm is our team concept.  Our teams are “small firms” within the bigger organization.  Each team has a team leader who knows what each associate has worked on, what he or she wants to work on and can make sure he or she gets a variety of work to facilitate his or development as a lawyer.  Each team is comprised of approximately 5 - 12 partners and associates, which emphasizes our true team structure.

Our new associates are always extremely impressed that they get to start doing real work really fast.  It is very common to have a one associate to one partner ratio on matters, and there is always direct, continuous contact between the two.  Even if there are numerous associates working on a matter, the most junior associate is included in every aspect of the deal, including meetings and phone conferences. We invest a substantial amount of time and resources into training our associates because we are committed to hiring, training, mentoring and retaining the best attorneys in the world.

If you would like to practice law in a collegial atmosphere with intelligent, sophisticated attorneys who are concerned about your personal growth and development as an attorney, then we invite you to learn more about our hiring programs and available positions.
